Privacy Policy

We collect the bare minimum we need to run FATALITY: enough to protect your licence, handle HWID transfers and confirm it's really you when you ask for support. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for ads.

1Who we are

FATALITY ("we", "us") is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us through a support ticket in our Discord server.

This policy covers the FATALITY app, our licence server, our Discord support and this website. It works together with our Terms of Service.

2What we collect

DataWhat it is and when we get it
Licence keyThe key you bought. The app sends it to our licence server when it checks your licence.
Hardware ID (HWID)An identifier the app builds from your system drive's serial number and your computer's name. It's sent with your key so the key only works on your PC and can't be shared. Your computer's name is whatever Windows calls your PC, which can include your name.
Approximate locationA very rough region (around 350 km) worked out from your IP address when the app checks your licence. We use your IP address only to work out this region.
Discord detailsYour Discord username and user ID, and the messages you send in support tickets, when you buy a key or contact support.
Purchase detailsWhat you bought and when, so we can deliver your key and help with problems. If you pay through a payment provider, they handle your payment details under their own privacy policy.
HWID transfer recordingsThe screen recording you send us when you ask for an HWID transfer. It may show the names of programs running on your PC.

This website

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or trackers, and its fonts are hosted on our own site. Our hosting provider processes basic connection data, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks.

3What stays on your PC

These files are created by the app on your computer and are never uploaded to us:

  • your settings and saved configs
  • your custom themes and custom background images
  • the file that remembers your licence key, so you don't have to enter it every time

To check for updates, the app downloads a small file from GitHub that contains the latest version number. Like any website, GitHub can see your IP address when this happens. The app doesn't send your key, HWID or any other information with this request.

4Why we use it

  • To run your licence. Checking your key and HWID is how we deliver what you paid for. The legal basis is performing our contract with you.
  • To stop key sharing and fraud. We compare HWIDs and approximate locations to spot keys used on more than one PC. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting our products and paying customers.
  • To confirm it's you. When you open a support ticket or ask for an HWID transfer, we check your approximate location and purchase details so that only the original buyer can manage the licence. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping your licence safe.
  • To meet legal obligations, for example keeping sales records where the law requires it.

We don't use your data for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't make automated decisions about you beyond checking whether your key is valid on your PC.

5Who we share it with

We only share data with the services we need to run FATALITY, and only what they need:

  • Render hosts our licence server.
  • Discord runs our server, where purchases and support happen.
  • GitHub hosts the version file the app checks for updates.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website.
  • Our payment provider, if you pay through one.

Some of these companies are based outside your country, including in the United States. They protect data under their own agreements, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also share data if the law requires it.

6How long we keep it

  • Licence key, HWID and approximate location: while your licence is active, and for up to 12 months afterwards so we can handle disputes and prevent abuse.
  • HWID transfer recordings: deleted once your request has been reviewed, and within 30 days at most.
  • Support tickets: as long as needed to help you, and up to 12 months afterwards.
  • Purchase records: as long as the law requires.

7Your rights

Depending on where you live, including in the EU and UK, you have the right to:

  • get a copy of the data we hold about you
  • have wrong data corrected
  • have your data deleted
  • object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it
  • complain to the data protection authority in your country

To use any of these rights, open a ticket in our Discord. We'll answer within one month. If you ask us to delete your HWID and licence data, your key will stop working, because we can no longer check it.

8Children

If you're under 16, you need a parent or guardian's permission before you buy FATALITY or give us any data. If a parent or guardian believes their child gave us data without permission, they can contact us and we'll delete it.

9Security

The app talks to our licence server over an encrypted connection and checks the server's certificate, so it can't be tricked into talking to an impostor. Only FATALITY staff who need the data to do their job can access it.

10Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. For any privacy question or request, open a ticket in our Discord server.
